Barack Obama: Occupying the White House but Not Made in America !
Barack Obama: Occupying the White House,
But Not Made in America !
By Scott Rohter, May 2012
Last week twelve Secret Service Agents were ordered back home to the United States, from Cartagena, Columbia because they were caught drinking on the job and using the services of Columbian prostitutes when they were supposed to be preparing for the President’s upcoming Summit of the Americas Conference. They were ordered back home to Washington where they were promptly fired, forced to resign, and made to forfeit their security clearances.
This week new revelations have surfaced involving other Secret Service Agents and similar inappropriate behavior in El Salvador in 2011, Buenos Aires in 2009, and in Moscow as far back as the year 2000 during the Presidency of Bill Clinton, calling into question their discretion or the lack of it, and the integrity of the entire Secret Service Department. Good grief!! The lack of morale and the rampant unprofessionalism in the Secret Service has already gone viral. It has become widespread and commonplace, and it has infected the entire Department!
In my previous article Breakdown of Morale in the Ranks I speculated that the reason for this breakdown of morale might be that Barack Obama is not even legally qualified to be the 44th President of the United States, not having met the basic Constitutional requirement of being a natural born citizen and not having a valid American birth certificate to prove it. Barack Obama is not an American born citizen. He is not made in America! But it is now clear to me that the scurrilous behavior of the Secret Service goes way back before Barack Obama ever became President. It goes all the way back to the halcyon days of President Bill “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” Clinton! But Barack Obama’s own “illegitimacy” as our current President has only served to exacerbate the matter greatly.
The Sheriff of Maricopa County Arizona, Joe Arpaio and his Cold Case Investigation Team have proved that the on-line birth certificate furnished by Barack Obama is not authentic. The trial a couple of weeks ago in a New Jersey courtroom to prevent Obama’s name from being placed on the ballot in New Jersey, if it wasn’t initially successful, has at least revealed an interesting fact. Barack Obama’s own defense team did not contest the point that the disputed birth certificate is a fraud. But they said that he does have a birth certificate, and that he just doesn’t have to show it in order to have his name placed on the ballot in New Jersey. What is confounding is that the New Jersey Court actually agreed with them! This news was broadcast immediately, almost as soon as it occurred, and the decision is being appealed to a higher court.
The Secret Service does not live in a vacuum. They are not entirely immune from what is going on in the rest of the country. They hear and read the news just like the rest of us do. Just imagine what you would feel like if it was your job to protect the President of the United States, and to risk your own life to guarantee his personal safety. And just imagine how you would feel if the man that you were assigned to protect and defend is not even constitutionally eligible to be your President. And in spite of that fact, half of the country voted for him anyway. Talk about discouraging! It’s one thing to risk your life or to die in the service of your country, but it is quite another thing to be asked die to protect a lie!
Now if all that isn’t bad enough, last week in Washington D.C. this “President” signed into law HR 347 which makes it a felony to engage in heretofore acceptable forms of free speech in his presence. HR 347 makes it a felony crime to protest or demonstrate, or to even hold up a sign saying anything against “President” Obama or any of his un-Constitutional policies anywhere near or around him! The punishment for violating this abridgement of your free speech rights is up to two years in jail for a first time offence. The Bill was overwhelmingly passed by Congress with only three dissenting votes.
Where were all of the Republican members of Congress when this vote was taken? The answer is that they were right there voting for the Bill along with all of the Democrat members of Congress except for Keith Ellison who admitted that he voted against the Bill by mistake. His office issued a press statement shortly after the vote was recorded which indicated that he meant to vote for the Bill along with the rest of his colleagues, but he inadvertently voted against it “by mistake”. Uh huh…
Congressman Ron Paul voted against the original Bill but he was not present when the final amended version of the Bill from the Senate was voted on. The only two members of Congress who actually voted No on the final version of the Bill HR 347, and meant to vote No were: Justin Amash (R) from Michigan’s 3rd District, and Paul Broun (R) from Georgia’s 10th District.
Good grief!! It is now considered a felony to petition the government for a redress of grievances? It is a crime to demonstrate your opposition to the President or any of his un-Constitutional policies virtually anyplace where he can hear or see you? Now you have to whisper your opposition to official government policy much like they do in Iran under the Mullahs? What the heck is going on in my country? First there was the Patriot Act. Then it was renewed again last year. Then there was the National Defense Authorization Act. Now there is House Resolution 347, passed almost unanimously and signed last week practically in secret. Then there was SOPA,PIPA, CISPA, and finally SCREW-YA!
Has Barack Obama somehow managed to make himself a King with the help of Republican members of Congress? Has he declared himself a little dictator like his good old buddy Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, or has he made himself into a Mullah, like the Ayatollahs in Iran? All the Republicans who voted for this abridgment of constitutionally protected, traditional forms of free speech have along with all of their “Democratic” counterparts sold us out!
Furthermore under HR 347 guess who will decide whether or not you have violated this abridgement of your constitutionally protected free speech? Who will make the determination whether you have broken this new law or not? Is it the FBI, or the Department of Homeland Security, or the State or local police departmemnts that will arrest you and put you in jail for up to two years?… NO! It is the same Secret Service that doesn’t even have the common sense or the good judgment not to drink on the job, or to use the services of hookers around the world, while they are supposed to be protecting the President of the United States, regardless of whether he is actually, or he is not actually, legally qualified to be occupying the White House.
Breakdown of Morale in the Ranks
Enjoying Everything that Columbia Has to Offer
Obama Secret Service Suffers From More than Just a Lack of Morale in South America
Breakdown of Morale in the Ranks
By Scott Rohter, April 2012
A very interesting but barely covered item in the news this week was from Columbia, South America where twelve members of President Obama’s advance security team were recalled back to the United States for “disciplinary reasons.” Hmmm… Have some members of the Secret Service, the nation’s finest and truest men and women, who are responsible for the President’s own personal safety, and who are supposed to be willing to lay down their lives to protect the President, finally had about enough of him too?
President Obama was attending a Summit of the Americas Conference this weekend in Cartagena, Columbia, on Columbia’s northern Caribbean coast, and just like everywhere else that our young, jet setting President goes, there was an advance contingent of Secret Service agents sent in there ahead of him to prepare the way for his visit, and to ensure his personal safety.
So what actually happened down there in Cartagena, Columbia in the week prior to President Obama’s arrival, to cause an entire contingent of Secret Service personnel, twelve Secret Service agents who were members of his advance personal security team, to be removed from their assignments and summarily returned home for disciplinary action? Well, the details are still a little bit sketchy, but I have never heard of anything like this ever happening before in my lifetime! So what do we actually know?
The twelve Secret Service agents included two high level supervisors. At least one of the agents is accused of employing the services of a Columbian prostitute. There were possibly other agents involved with prostitutes as well. This unheard of misconduct was discovered when a disgruntled hooker complained about not getting paid! The prostitute filed a report with the local Columbian police who contacted the U.S. State Department. All of this information was released by a Secret Service spokesman and was reported originally by CBS News.
According to hotel employees in Columbia where the Secret Service agents were staying, the agents had been drinking heavily all week long prior to the Presidents arrival. The Secret Service spokesman said this only represented a moral deficiency, not an operational deficiency. I would say that it represents both a moral deficiency and an operational deficiency, and a breakdown in morale as well.
Now why would there be a breakdown in morale and a lack of discipline among the President’s highly trained Secret Service personnel? Could it be that they are unhappy about having to protect a man who according to the Constitution and the best available evidence, is not even legally qualified to be our Nation’s 44th President; a man who many Americans view as a usurper, and whose Marxist policies to transform America are not well liked? Does the idea of his forged birth certificate, now proved by the Sheriff of Maricopa County Arizona’s “Cold Case Team”, and not disputed in a New Jersey court room this week by the President’s own defense attorneys, possibly have anything to do with this breakdown of morale in the Secret Service? One can only wonder if this,.. and other possible un-Constitutional acts committed by President Obama are starting to catch up with him, and are having a cumulative effect on the morale of the Secret Service agents who are charged with protecting him.

Newt Gingrich PAC “Winning the Future” is Just Spinning the Past
Newt Gingrich Political Action Committee “Winning the Future” is Just Spinning the Past
Winning the Future is Just Spinning the Past
By Scott Rohter, March 2012
The Newt Gingrich political action committee, “Winning the Future” is more worried about spinning the past than it is about winning the future. It is more concerned about spinning everything in Newt Gingrich’s past than it is about winning anything except perhaps the next Republican primary for Newt! And this political action committee has less to do with America’s future than it has to do with Newt’s immediate plans for his own future. Finally Newt’s PAC is not about winning the future for America as much as it is about winning the Republican nomination for Newt Gingrich, or more precisely getting him a front and center seat at the table in Tampa, Florida while at the same time threatening to deny outright the Republican nomination to either Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum. That’s what Newt’s so called “Wining the Future” PAC is all about. It’s all about Mr. Speaker, just as it has always been all about Mr. Speaker, all throughout his entire political career. There is nothing new about that! But winning the future doesn’t require spinning the past!
So just how would this actually work? Newt Gingrich has won only two States so far, his home State of Georgia with 76 delegates, and South Carolina with 23 delegates. Please read my article on the South Carolina Primary titled Bamboozled in South Carolina. He wouldn’t even have won those two States if it hadn’t been for his main benefactor Sheldon Adelson, who is one of America’s wealthiest men. Adelson has already made a large personal contribution of more than 20 million dollars to Newt’s Political Action Committee and he promises to give even more. This is just pocket change to Adelson, who is according to Forbes, the 8th richest man in America. He is a gambling casino magnate whose personal fortune is estimated to be worth over 25 billion dollars! Adelson is just behind George Soros in terms of the size of his personal fortune, and together with the Koch brothers, Adelson is the Republican’s answer to the Democrat’s sugar-daddy, George Soros.
Neither Soros nor Adelson however contribute anything to real conservatives who believe in smaller government! They only want to use their vast personal fortunes to try to control the government and to manipulate Washington to better serve themselves! That is not the same thing as believing in small government. They want to try to manipulate our Congress, our Courts and our President for their own personal or corporate advantage. The correct answer to all of George Soros‘ influence over our government is not to have Sheldon Adelson and the Koch brothers on our side throwing their money around too. It is to put a reasonable cap on personal and corporate contributions to PACs, or to get the money out of politics all together by creating a National tax payer funded election channel on the radio and the TV, which would provide an equal amount of free air time to all serious candidates in Federal elections.
Once that is done we could possibly look into prohibiting paid political advertising altogether by the political slush funds called PACs which don’t really do anything to educate and inform the public about the candidates or the issues anyway. They are always in a perennial race with each other to see who can outspend the other and buy our elections. That’s not what I call free speech! It doesn’t generally make for good elections either, when the side who spends the most money usually wins. Why don’t we try experimenting with the idea of truly free speech? Perhaps we could just try it in one State first. Of course every State should pay for their own State Elections channel. I don’t expect people in another State to pay for my State or local campaigns in Oregon, and that’s just the way it should be. But on Federal elections we should all pitch in for a National Elections Channel. That would finally get the influence of big money out of politics! But get ready for a big backlash from the Mainstream Media!
Getting back to Newt Gingrich, just how would winning the Republican Primary nomination for Newt Gingrich actually help Sheldon Adelson, or help win the future for America? Well, leaving Mr. Adelson aside for the moment and just focusing on how a victory for Newt Gingrich in the Republican Primary could possibly win the future for America, I’m tempted to answer my own question. It won’t! Not even if you believe all of the campaign rhetoric coming from the Gingrich campaign. Nominating Newt Gingrich won’t win anything for anybody except Newt! All of his electioneering bombast sounds mighty convincing, but I’m reminded that so does the silver tongued rhetoric of the Devil, whenever he opens his big mouth too. Keep in mind that Newt’s campaign team hires only the best Madison Avenue political advisors and consultants with all of the money that Sheldon Adelson lavishes on his Presidential campaign to refresh Newt’s tired old, worn out political image. But former Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann once observed that, “the devil is in the details.” And it most certainly is. So for all of you who really want to know, here are the details again for Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich:
Claim #1 Newt Gingrich claims to be a supporter of smaller government.
Fact : This claim is false. Newt has never been a fan of small government. For example, in 1979 Newt Gingrich helped his fellow Georgian, President Jimmy Carter create the U.S. Dept. of Education, which was the largest single expansion of government in U.S. history.
Claim #2 Newt’s Political Action Committee says that he will create new jobs here in America.
Fact : This claim is probably false. Newt Gingrich supported the WTO, and he voted for GATT and NAFTA which paved the way for devastating job losses in America.
Claim #3 Newt has changed over the years and he is a different man now.
Fact : This claim is false. In 2008 Newt Gingrich recorded the “We Can Solve it” Global Warming TV commercial for the former Vice President, Al Gore along with Nancy Pelosi at his side. In 2009-2010 Newt Gingrich traveled around the country with Al Sharpton and President Obama’s Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan promoting Obama’s new educational policies, including more Federal regulations and more government subsidies from Washington.
Claim #4 Newt is the TEA Party’s choice.
Fact : This claim is false. In the 2010 Special Congressional Election in New York’s 23rd Congressional District, Newt Gingrich supported the ultra-liberal candidate Dede Scozzafava over rival conservative candidate Doug Hoffman who truly was the TEA Party’s choice.
Claim #5 Newt’s Contract with America in the 1990’s was good for America.
Fact : This claim has no merit. The Contract with America was a stroke of marketing genius, but there was nothing of any significance or lasting value that resulted from the Contract with America. That’s why only six years later Ed Crane, the president of the CATO Institute wrote in the November 2000 issue of Forbes Magazine that, “The combined budgets of the ninety-five major programs that the Contract with America promised to eliminate have increased by 13%.” And over the years since then, the Republican controlled Congress has approved discretionary spending that exceeded Bill Clinton’s requests! The Contract with America was a political marketing ploy of the first magnitude, but it didn’t change much because it didn’t pull up the un-Constitutional weeds by their roots. It just mowed them back a little bit. And we all know what happens after you mow the weeds. They just grow back again.
Claim #6 Newt Gingrich loves and honors the Constitution.
Fact : This claim is false and is refuted by his very own words. In 1995 Newt Gingrich delivered a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Affairs in which he wrote the following, “The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution… Either we are going to have to rethink our Constitution or we are going to have to rethink our process of making decisions.” This admission from a sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives is nothing less than a complaint that blames the United States Constitution for making America’s role in leading the world more difficult!
Claim #7 Newt Gingrich is a family man with strong traditional values.
Fact : This claim is false. Nothing could be further from the truth. Newt has had two divorces, three wives and numerous marital infidelities along the way. If swearing to uphold his marital vows is any indication of Newt’s feelings toward vows in general, than I wouldn’t trust him to honor his vows to uphold the Constitution. A philanderer doesn’t necessarily make for a good President or a good leader!
Furthermore Newt Gingrich is a big fan of Alvin and Heidi Toffler’s two books promoting their vision for a new world order, in which adultery, homosexuality, and other forms of promiscuity and immorality are all viewed as perfectly normal. Newt even wrote the forward to their second book, The Politics of the Third Wave: Creating a New Civilization. And he recommended reading Toffler’s first book, The Third Wave to all of his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives. He said that in order to understand him you had to read Toffler’s book. These two books of Toffler lay waste the foundation of family values, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights which are the true basis for all of our freedoms in America!
Claim #8 Newt is the smartest candidate in the Republican Primary.
Fact : This claim cannot be proven. However even if he is, so what? I would much rather elect someone with great integrity, than someone with above average intelligence… Take for instance the renowned historical figure of King Solomon. You have probably heard of his legendary intelligence, but because of his own personal weakness as a philanderer, his Kingdom disappeared within a few short years of his death. He did not build upon a solid foundation and he did not plan for his kingdom’s survival. He built his house and his kingdom upon shifting sand. If the smartest man in the world wasn’t even smart enough to ensure his own kingdom’s survival, then it just goes to show you… What good is all of the intelligence in the world without virtue and good character?
Bamboozled in South Carolina Republican Primary
Bamboozled in South Carolina
-by Scott Rohter, January 2012
My mother used to say that there is a sucker born every minute. By the latest calculations there are over 243,000 suckers in South Carolina today, who voted in large numbers for Newt Gingrich on Saturday in the South Carolina Republican Primary. They preferred Newt over Mitt by almost a 2 to 1 margin, giving Newt Gingrich his first major Primary victory. Romney received 167,279 votes or 27.8% of the vote, to Gingrich’s 243,153 votes or 40.4% of the vote. Rick Santorum got 102,055 votes for 17%, and Ron Paul got 77,993 votes for 13%. To see all of the results, county by county, click here on this map link. http://www.google.com/elections/ed/us/results/2012/gop-primary/sc.
I think North Carolina is called the “Tar heel State”, and South Carolina is the “Palmetto State”. But maybe we should just start affectionately referring to South Carolina the “Tar head” State, because so many of their residents were bamboozled into believing that Newt Gingrich is a real conservative. They bought all of his “bullgeschikta”, hook, line, and sinker! I am still scratching my head and wondering how they could believe him. Don’t they know he has a long political track record of doing exactly the opposite of what he says? We say we don’t like “The Political Establishment” and all of “The Insiders” in Washington. Hell, Newt Gingrich is “The Political Establishment!” Newt Gingrich is the ultimate insider! Well it’s too late now for South Carolina. They already cast their lot! We just have to go on. We can’t have a “do over”. We’ll just have to do better in Florida.
But in South Carolina, way too many people were taken in by the power of Newt Gingrich’s oratorical swagger. Many un-sophisticated South Carolinians were just plain hornswoggled! All of them didn’t lose their minds, but enough of them did, to give Newt Gingrich the victory in Saturday’s South Carolina Primary, and at least 23 of its 25 delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida on August 27th.
I just wish that voters in general, Republicans and Democrats alike, would be a little more perceptive, well actually a lot more perceptive, if you really want to know the truth! And it’s one good reason why I’m actually glad that we still have an Electoral College: i.e. To save us from ourselves! I heard a comment from someone I know, who said that they were encouraged by all of the applause that Newt Gingrich had received at the last debate, when he expressed some very popular conservative opinions. Why should that come as a surprise to anybody? The country is basically conservative, no matter how much of the media that the liberals own, and hammer us with literally day and night! The country is still conservative!
But why would a fellow conservative be encouraged to hear people applauding Newt Gingrich, who is not a conservative, as he pays calculated and grudging lip service to conservative ideas? I wasn’t encouraged. I was horrified! I didn’t see a vision of a conservative resurgence in that room. I saw the sheep being led to the slaughter! I saw the TEA Party Movement being effectively nullified! For Pete’s sake people, wake up! Newt isn’t the good shepherd. He is the wolf! I know, Barack Obama is a wolf too. But you better wake up folks, wolves run in packs. We have our own wolves, and in case you don’t know it, Newt Gingrich ain’t the good shepherd! So all of that applause that Newt Gingrich received when he spoke, actually made me nauseous. Yes, he was articulating conservative ideas. But there was just one huge problem with that. He was only expressing them! He doesn’t believe in them! So what, if people liked what they heard. They were all being bamboozled! They were all being duped! Newt Gingrich Update
Newt Gingrich: Progressive Establishment Republican
What Newt Kind of Conservatism is This?
The Greatest Title of All
The Most Important Qualification to be President
Misplaced Notion of Party Loyalty
I spent a lot of time on the phone last week calling the Republican County Chairs and Co-Chairs in South Carolina. In South Carolina they call their Co-Chair, an Executive Committeeman. I was trying my best to get them to vote for Paul, or Santorum, or Romney, just anybody but Gingrich. I was also trying to remind them of the weighty words of our Founding Fathers, and what the most important qualification to be President of The United States really is. But alas, it was all to no avail. They are obviously all much smarter than I am!
One interesting thing that I noted was, as my calls got closer to the Georgia – South Carolina border, not only did people have a slightly different accent, but they also had a much different opinion of Newt Gingrich. They knew enough about the real Newt, so as not to be taken in by him, or by all of his nice sounding words. Now that really was encouraging! One particular County Republican Chairman told me that he knew he made a mistake in 2008, by supporting McCain over Romney, and he wasn’t going to make that same mistake again! He told me that he would be voting for Romney this time around. I said, he’s not my first choice, but I’ll accept that. He sure is a lot better than Newt Gingrich. We both agreed on that.
My biggest concern with Mitt Romney has always been his views on individual mandates, and repealing ObamaCare, but he has already said that he would sign the legislation to repeal ObamaCare. So that issue is effectively off the table now. As I see it then, the decision just basically comes down to comparing the size of the baggage that Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney each carry around with them. After rummaging around in each of their closets for a bit, I think that Romney’s closet looks a lot less cluttered than Gingrich’s does! So if I can’t get Paul or Santorum in the end, then I know who I will be voting for, if it comes to choosing between the flip flopper and the serial hypocrite!
What we need to do is elect enough serious conservatives to Congress from all across America, so that no matter who is in the White House in 2013, he won’t be able to sign any more freedom destroying legislation, because no such legislation will make it to his desk! And we need to get the legislation to repeal ObamaCare to the President’s desk, and hold whoever our next Republican President is, to signing it!
The Greatest Title of All
The Greatest Title of All
-by Scott Rohter, January 2012
George Washington wrote that, “The greatest title of all is to be called an honest man.” The qualities to look for in a leader are no different today, than they were back in 1783. The most important quality of all to look for in a Presidential candidate is honesty! There are many different words in the English language to describe the same thing: honesty, character, integrity, virtue, morality, and principles. This is the stuff of which good leaders are made!
Intelligence, and the ability to look and sound good on television, or the ability to debate and persuade other people, are too frequently considered to be of more importance than basic core values! This is a mistake! These are ‘second tier’ traits that are only useful, if a leader first possesses the foundational core principles of honesty and integrity! Honesty and integrity are every bit as important today as they were 200 years ago, and all of our Founding Fathers agreed on this in their writing. For instance Thomas Jefferson wrote “In matters of principle stand like a rock. In other matters swim with the current.” John Quincy Adams wrote that, “I would rather be found guilty of making a serious mistake in judgment, than to be accused of being even a little bit insincere.”
There are four candidates left in the Republican Primary, going into South Carolina. Two of them are honest men, and two of them would say almost anything to get elected, and they have said just about anything to get elected in the past! Two of them are honest men, and two of them are not! The two that are honest men are Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. You may not agree with everything that they say, but both of them have been very consistent throughout their political careers. A vote for either one of them would not be a mistake. The two candidates who would tell you just about anything to get elected, and who have done so in the past, are Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney!
It is important to be able to tell the difference between truth and lies. It is just as important to be able to distinguish between the motives of different people, who are saying basically the same thing, and to know the difference between someone who actually means what they are saying, and someone who does not. In other words, it is important to be able to distinguish between the genuine, and the counterfeit! See my article entitled Counterfeit Conservatives, on LessGovistheBestGov.com from January, 2012. It is not sufficient just to say the right thing. One must actually believe it! Newt Gingrich doesn’t believe anything that he is saying right now! He is just running for another national political office, for what must be at least the tenth time! He is a masterful politician who is just trying to get elected! How do I know this? Can I look into his heart? Of course not. But I can read his long political record for the past thirty two years!
This National Election is not about some kind of religious conversion that Newt Gingrich claims to have experienced. It is about politics, pure and simple! It is about a return to limited government! Newt Gingrich has never been a proponent of small government in his life, NEVER! But he is well aware of the importance of the TEA Party, and he is trying to ride that wave back into a position of power and influence again! Whether or not he has actually sought for, and found redemption and forgiveness from God, this only God knows. It is none of my business! Frankly I don’t care, and it is not a subject for this election. But Newt’s political record is public knowledge and it is fodder for this election! See my article entitled Newtworthy or Not, or Just Not Worthy from March, 2011 on LessGovistheBestGov.com. It is also republished on NewtWorldOrderGingrich.com in January, 2012.
Newt Gingrich’s long political record is public knowledge for anyone who cares to know! His past record and his recent record proves that he is lying now! I could go all the way back to 1979, when he teamed up with President Jimmy Carter to create the US Department of Education, and grew the Federal Government way beyond its Constitutional role and authority. But I only need to go back as far as last year, when he was traveling around the country with Barack Obama’s current Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, promoting Obama’s “Race to the Top” educational policies, and even more Federal control over education, in order to prove that Newt Gingrich hasn’t really changed at all. Politically speaking, he is the same Newt Gingrich today, as he was thirty years ago, and still just as smart as a fox too!
Now you can’t agree with everything that someone says, but Thomas Jefferson said it best. “In matters of principle stand like a rock…” The real question is this: Is limited Constitutional government really a matter of principle for you? If it is, then you can’t allow yourself to be hoodwinked, or hornswoggled by Newt Gingrich! It is not possible to agree with somebody all of the time, but it is possible to agree with them enough of the time, and to agree with their core principles, in order to vote for them. And to me, lying is just not one of the core principles that I can vote for!
I would rather vote for an honest man that I don’t agree with some of the time, than for a dishonest man that I can’t agree with at all. I just can’t agree with lying in order to get elected! Besides the fact, if Newt and Mitt are willing to lie in order to get elected, then you really don’t know what they actually believe, do you? That’s the problem with Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney. And if I have to choose between Gingrich and Romney, I would pick Romney every single time! Why? Because in spite of the fact that he hasn’t been consistent over the years, and in spite of all of his convenient flipflops that are now coming back to haunt him, and in spite of the fact that he hasn’t shown the courage to publically stand up for his true beliefs…, he has at least managed to remain married to the same woman for thirty four years, and together they have raised a strong, healthy family, and that says a lot! So what if he doesn’t have a lot of courage. We’re not sending him to lead an army into combat!
As far as Newt Gingrich is concerned, all I can say is this. If you can’t honor your marriage vows, not just once, but twice, to two different women, then you probably won’t honor your sworn oath to uphold the Constitution! And I can’t vote for a man like that!
Newt Gingrich – Misplaced Notion of Party Loyalty
Can you Handle The Truth?
Newt Gingrich – Misplaced Notion of Party Loyalty
By Scott Rohter, January 20
Do you want to know the truth? Well here it is! Under no circumstances would I support a Republican candidate for President who describes himself as a “Real Politick” Wilsonian, a man who views the Constitution as an impediment or an obstacle to overcome, or someone who agrees with Alvin Toffler’s crazy progressive ideas about a new world civilization. I won’t vote for a progressive just because he happens to be a registered Republican, or because he might be one step better than an outright Marxist! So much for Newt Gingrich!
Liberals and progressives have been monopolizing both branches of the same political Party and through them our country for most of the 20th Century. They are strangling the Republican Party right now with the cockamamie idea that a progressive Republican is somehow better than a progressive Democrat. The truth is that all progressives are equally bad for the long term survival of our country, and for the continued prospects for freedom in America!
Progressive ideology is the prima fascia reason that the United States is in the mess that it’s in! There are no shades or gradients of evil when it comes to those who would take away our precious freedom, and replace it with some form of government controlled entitlement society, complete with cradle to grave handouts! All such supposedly progressive ideas are bad! There is nothing actually forward looking about them at all. They are all incremental steps backward in history, to a time and a place when people were less free, and government was more powerful… Franklin Roosevelt expressed it best when he said, “If you give up freedom for a little security, then you don’t deserve either, [and you will probably lose both]!” Reprisal by editor.
I am a conservative. Conservatives believe in limited government. The reason we believe in limited government is because all governments tend to become corrupt over time. Our Founding Fathers experienced this first hand and they knew it full well. That is why they designed a Constitution whose main purpose was to restrict the reach of the Federal Government. And they did this by dividing the defined powers between three branches of government, and instituting checks and balances so that no one branch of government could become too powerful. Furthermore, in the Bill of Rights, which was one of the first official acts of Congress, they did not limit the rights of the people, but they did seriously limit the powers of the Federal Government. ( See 9th and 10th Amendments.)
James Madison wrote, “In designing a government, the great difficulty is this: You must first empower the government to control the governed, and then in the very next step, you must oblige it to control itself.” (from the Federalist Papers #51). That’s why one of the very first acts of Congress was to pass the first ten amendments to the Constitution, to define the rights of the people, and to limit the powers of the central government. There is little wonder why they chose the number ten. It was in obvious deference to the Ten Commandments, and with an eye to tradition, something that Newt Gingrich only pays lip service to! “The purpose of government is to secure our unalienable God given rights. Whenever any government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it…[in fact] it is their solemn duty to throw off such a government” (from the Declaration of Independence.
As a conservative my loyalty is first to the Constitution, and to the Republic for which it was written, and in the way it was originally intended, with just a few notable exceptions, such as freeing the slaves, and giving women the right to vote! My Republican Party affiliation is a distant second place. What about you? Can you handle the truth? Do you have any children? Are you the parents of a young teenage son or daughter? Well if you are, then you should be a lot more concerned about the future that they will inherit, if we don’t get this Federal Debt under control and stop the leftward slide of our country, than some Misplaced Notion of Party Loyalty.

Iowa Speaks and Michele Listens
Iowa Speaks and Michele Listens
-by Scott Rohter, January 2012
Iowa voters went to their Caucuses yesterday and cast the first ballots in the 2012 Presidential Primary, and Republican candidate Michele Bachmann finished almost in last place with only 5% of the vote. She didn’t win a single one of Iowa’s 99 counties! Rick Perry received 10% of the vote and carried only two counties. Newt Gingrich somehow managed to fool enough of the people in Iowa, enough of the time, to get 13% of their vote, but he failed to win even one of their counties! Ron Paul carried 18 counties and received 21% of the vote. Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney were in a virtual tie for first place with 25% of the vote each. But the difference between the demographics behind Romney’s constituency, and Santorum’s constituency is like night and day. Romney’s core constituency was centered around the five major metropolitan areas of Des Moines, Dubuque, Davenport, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City, and just across the river from Omaha, Nebraska. See map link: http://www.google.com/elections/ed/us/results/2012/gop-primary/ia. The rest of the State belonged almost entirely to Senator Rick Santorum, including the suburban areas that surround the cities. Ron Paul’s support also came primarily from the same urban areas that supported Mitt Romney. The county by county breakdown of the vote in Iowa is as follows:
|
62 |
Counties for Santorum |
|
18 |
Counties for Paul |
|
17 |
Counties for Romney |
|
2 |
Counties for Perry |
|
0 |
Counties for Gingrich |
|
0 |
Counties for Bachmann |
|
99 |
Counties Total |
Thus, Iowa has spoken and Michele Bachmann has listened. She suspended her Presidential campaign today, and that was exactly the right thing to do! I am one of her biggest supporters, and she is a total class act! Now she should step aside and throw all of her support and her remaining campaign funds to Senator Rick Santorum, who surprisingly fared much better than she did, and who could actually still win this race. He finished in a dead heat with Mitt Romney, in a statistical tie for first place! He can sure use her endorsement right now, and whatever money she still has left in her campaign treasury. But I hope that she isn’t discouraged by her disappointing finish in Iowa. She is a fine public servant with the highest conservative principles, and sound character, and she deserved to do much better than she did. I hope she remains engaged at the same high level, and doesn’t back down, or tone down her rhetoric one bit, or alter any of her positions on the issues. Perhaps she will still be available for a place on the ticket as the Vice Presidential nominee, or for a high cabinet level position in a future administration. Someone with as much courage and character as she has, cannot remain un-noticed forever, no matter how hard the ‘Old Boys’ try! So keep on doing what you’re doing, Michele. Sooner or later you will be rewarded! Even a place on the ticket as the first woman Vice President Designate would be an historic, precedent setting moment for our country! If you choose to remain in Congress , one day you will be rewarded by your peers with a position in the leadership of the House, which by the way could sure use a good shake-up right now! You can’t always win everytime you run, but sometimes you can learn a whole lot more by losing than by winning! It seems that some of the high ranking people in her campaign did not serve her very well, and they were not worthy of her trust. Her national campaign manager, Ed Rollins resigned. Her entire team in New Hampshire let her down too, and her campaign manager in Iowa quit! If his name isn’t Brutus, then it sure ought to be!
The Iowa Caucus is not about picking a winner. Rather, it is about narrowing the field. It is not about choosing a nominee, as much as it is about eliminating some of the others who won’t be the nominee. I don’t know why Bachmann performed so poorly in Iowa, but I knew that if she didn’t do well there, then she probably wouldn’t do very well anywhere else. Iowa was her best chance. It was do or die for her in Iowa! But Iowa was her ‘Waterloo’, rather than Waterloo, her Iowa!
I don’t know why Iowans voted the way they did. I don’t know if it was Iowa’s fault, or her campaign manager’s fault, or the mainstream media’s fault, or her own fault. I’m sure there is plenty of blame to go around, but she still has more character, and more courage than anyone else in the race! I heard some pretty shocking remarks coming from more than one local Republican official in Iowa, concerning her Presidential bid. Things like, “A woman shouldn’t be president.” Or “I would never vote for a woman.” Or “Women are too emotional to be President.” Or “She is too short.” Stupid things like that! Hell, Napoleon was short, but it didn’t stop him from conquering Europe. If I wanted a basketball player for President, then I’d pick Manute Bol, or Wilt Chamberlain, or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, if height meant anything! I mean really, how stupid can people be?
And there is nothing wrong either with having a maternal side! Maybe if some of our male leaders did, then they would be a little less inclined to send our young men and women over seas into harm’s way, and more disposed to actually following the Constitution once in a while, and obtaining an actual written Declaration of War before so-doing!
Nevertheless, Iowa has spoken and Michele has listened, and she has suspended her campaign. Now the media can simply forget about her, although I’m not so sure that they ever really remembered her. They acted like she didn’t even exist most of the time! At least that’s the way I remember it. As for me, I’m going to see what I can do to help the next best conservative in the race, which is Senator Rick Santorum, and I hope that Governor Perry will do the same thing, if not now, then at least after the South Carolina Primary. All conservatives really do need to rally behind the one solid conservative, or limited government libertarian, who has the best chance of denying the nomination to Romney or Gingrich!
Newt shows his true colors, again
Article originally published at World Net Daily: www.wnd.com
I should have known better. Despite all I have witnessed watching Newt Gingrich during the many years he has led a public life, I started softening to him — largely on the basis of his debate performances.I began to think I could live with this guy as president, which is almost understandable given the current squatter in the White House. I even said in a recent television appearance that Gingrich would be an acceptable nominee for the Republican Party. Let me do a very public mea culpa here.
The news that the former speaker’s firm accepted between $1.6 million and $1.8 million from Freddie Mac suggests strongly that Gingrich is not the changed man he’s claimed to be. In a recent debate, you might recall hearing him say that he was paid $300,000 to be a “historian” for the government-controlled lender. That was, to put it mildly, a lie. He told the American people a blatant falsehood in an effort to deflect a tough question and make it appear to be an unwarranted attack from a hostile media.
In fact, what former Freddie Mac officials say about the lucrative contract is that it was part of a full-court press by the company to develop an argument for the questionable public-private structure it enjoyed. An argument they could sell to Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals. Gingrich’s job with Freddie Mac was to sell the monstrosity that was going broke making bad housing loans to conservatives — the one constituency that should have seen through the smoke and mirrors.
While Gingrich claims he wasn’t a “lobbyist” for Freddie Mac, two executives at the company said he provided written material that could be circulated among conservatives on Capitol Hill and elsewhere. They also dispute Gingrich’s contention that he ever warned the lender about the dangers of the housing bubble.
What Freddie Mac was doing when they bought Gingrich was part of an overall effort to buy Democrats, Republicans and all kinds of lobbyists to ensure there was no opposition to the company’s shenanigans — no oversight, no opposition, no calls for privatization, no change in policy.
Thus, Gingrich bears some personal responsibility for the financial disaster that resulted. But that’s not all, not by a long shot. Gingrich’s firm was also paid $312,500 in 2009 by an ethanol lobby. Does that commercial he did with Nancy Pelosi on “global warming” make a little more sense now? But it gets worse still.
Let’s go back to May 11 and his appearance on NBCs “Meet the Press” where he said he supports having individual mandates requiring Americans to buy health insurance, post a bond to pay for health care “or in some way indicate you’re going to be held accountable” — a position even he recognized was just a “variation” on the most unconstitutional and objectionable component of Obamacare.
This is the fairly recent stuff. Do you want a look back on Gingrich’s history? One of the reasons Republicans didn’t have the stomach to convict Bill Clinton after impeaching him for lying under oath is because Gingrich decided to have an affair in the middle of the scandal. He apologized to Jesse Jackson after Rep. J.C. Watts called him a “poverty pimp,” which is exactly what was and continues to be.
Anyone and everyone who has had any personal contact with Newt Gingrich knows what he is in real life — away from the TV cameras and around people he doesn’t think can help him much. He’s the illustration you see in the dictionary next to the word “arrogant.”
Having said all this, we all know the GOP candidates are wearing targets on their backs. As soon as a new top-tier candidate emerges, the media somehow discovers something despairing about him or her. This has occurred with almost all of the potential Republican presidential candidates with one notable exception —Mitt Romney. Why?
He’s the one the Democrat-dominated media want to get the nomination because they know he is the closest thing to John McCain in the GOP field with the possible exception of nowhere man Jon Huntsman.
Who does that leave as viable choices for us? Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, self-destructive Rick Perry and Ron Paul. The race has narrowed. It’s time for Republicans to get very serious about finding a replacement for Barack Obama.
Farah: Newt is Not the Answer in 2012
Article originally posted at creators.com: http://www.creators.com/opinion/joseph-farah/newt-is-not-the-answer-in-2012.html
Newt Gingrich is out there campaigning for the presidency in 2012 with a new book, “To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine.”
I won’t tell you I read the book. I don’t feel I need to do so after reviewing Gingrich’s political career through the 1990s. It’s not that Gingrich isn’t smart. He is.
Gingrich had his moment. He did an amazing job in 1994 leading the “Republican Revolution” and becoming speaker of the House. But Gingrich lost his way during the Clinton years. He became part of the problem. Do I really need to remind Americans he resigned the speakership in moral disgrace?
I was among the first to call for his resignation then. I sure don’t think he’s the right man to succeed Obama when we need a radical approach to reversing unconstitutional initiatives and policies.
Gingrich was a revolutionary until he got power. Then he became the politician, again. Ask most members of the freshman class of 1994 who betrayed the “Republican Revolution,” and they will tell you Gingrich did.
He sold out his principles. He accommodated. He appeased. He fought harder to get in the front of Air Force One to chat with the president than he did to subvert that president’s agenda.
Now we’re to believe Newt is the fiery revolutionary, once again. I’m sorry, but I don’t buy it.
Everything Gingrich says about Barack Obama’s administration is true. But he’s really a Johnny-come-lately to the party. For instance, his battle plan calls for stopping the energy tax. That would be cap and trade — Obama’s answer to the phantom problem of climate change.
But not long ago, Gingrich was helping Nancy Pelosi and others sell climate change to the American people.
In case you forgot, I invite you to watch the happy couple in the TV commercial on this subject.
Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich Commercial on Climate Change
Do you really expect President Gingrich will fight to stop cap and trade after serving as an advocate of the phony climate-change scenario?
Lately, I’ve heard him more than once tell the American people the new speaker of the House is going to be John Boehner. Personally, I think the new class of freshman House Republicans might have a better idea about that. I think they might want new leadership in both the House and Senate.
Why? Because that’s what we need. The Republican Party is moribund.
It’s going to fare extremely well in 2010, but not because of any leadership exerted by the party. It will be the result of a grass-roots rebellion against the party in power.
If the Republicans were in the majority in the House and Senate, it would be they who would be voted out in droves in November. The people don’t like the direction of the country under Obama, Pelosi and Harry Reid. But they are not enamored of the Republican opposition under Boehner and Mitch McConnell, either.
America needs real change today, and that does not mean looking backward for yesterday’s failed leadership. I believe we have better candidates who may not be as well known as Gingrich. It’s time to start talking about them.
I’ve given you an example of one ticket I like. It is certainly not the only one. But I wanted to illustrate that there are good people available in 2012. It’s just that none of them are named Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney.
Glenn Beck: I’d Vote for Paul over Gingrich
Glenn Beck said this morning on his radio show that if Newt Gingrich is the nominee and Ron Paul runs third party, he’d consider voting for Ron Paul over Newt Gingrich, and he hates Ron Paul’s policies on the Middle East.
Report: Gingrich cashed in supporting subsidies for big business
Since leaving office in 1999, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has spent much of his time convincing conservatives to support government subsidies for large corporations, reports the Washington Examiner.
In addition to his work as a “strategic consultant” for government-sponsored mortgage lender Freddie Mac, the Examiner reports that tax filings show Gingrich received money from the ethanol lobby.
A Newt Gingrich Update: A Rare Look Into The Political Soul of Newt Gingrich
–Scott Rohter, inspired by a quote from Andrew Jackson
“The strategy of the ‘Progressive Establishment’ has always been to get the two most liberal candidates, one from each political Party nominated in their respective primaries, and then to promote the most progressive of those two candidates in the general election!” – Scott Rohter
Newt Gingrich has many fine qualities. Among those he is smart, likeable, and articulate! I wish that we had a serious conservative candidate running for President in the Republican Primary, who had the same level of experience, and who could express himself as effectively as Newt Gingrich can, but unfortunately we don’t, and merely wishing won’t make it so! Just like wishing that Newt Gingrich was a real conservative, while blinding your eyes to the fact of who he really is, won’t make it so either!
Newt Gingrich is NOT a conservative by any stretch of the imagination! His latest remarks last week on NBC’s Meet the Press only serve to prove my point! Newt said to David Gregory, the host of Meet The Press, that he didn’t like right wing social engineering any more than he liked left wing social engineering! That wasn’t just a big guffaw. It was actually Newt speaking from his heart with his guard down! That’s the real Newt Gingrich. He is a consummate politician, trying to appear to be fair to all sides in order to get elected again, while trying to keep his real intentions hidden until after the election is over! But twelve years is not long enough to forget his political record when he was in power! That is why, to quote a conservative newspaper publisher friend of mine, “No Newt is good Newt!”
Newt Gingrich does not have any problem communicating his ideas! He is first and foremost a communicator. It’s just that the ideas he is communicating are not conservative ideas! They are progressive ideas. This is evidenced by the fact that Newt Gingrich is a big fan of author Alvin Toffler’s books, The Third Wave and Creating a New Civilization: The Politics of the Third Wave. Gingrich even wrote the forward to one of those books! In his own words Newt said that in order to understand him, you had to read Toffler’s books! Newt Gingrich is an author, a lecturer, a history teacher, in addition to being a political pundit, a successful businessman, and a frequent guest contributor on Fox News. But one thing he is NOT is a Constitutional conservative. In spite of all of the apologies and the back tracking, he said exactly what he meant last week on Meet the Press, in an off-guard moment, in a friendly venue, when he felt comfortable, and his defenses were down. He just momentarily got lost in his own thoughts, and forgot that he was not just talking with David Gregory, but he was actually speaking to the entire nation! He was demonstrating the standard 20th century progressive strategy, to try to appear to be reasonable to all, in order to gain access to power, from which he can do all of the social engineering that he wants, i.e. progressive social engineering, just like President Obama! We must not fall for the carefully scripted Madison Avenue illusion again! We must notice and understand what the precious few glimpses into the political soul of Newt Gingrich, actually mean!
As I said, Newt Gingrich is no Constitutional conservative! In fact, Newt Gingrich said in a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Affairs in 1995 that, the chellenge for the United States in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution! “Either we are going to have to rethink our Constitution or we are going to have to rethink our process of making decisions…” Those are not the words of a Constitutional conservative! See my article, NewtWorthy or Not? from March 2011. No conservative would even think of saying that, and no serious conservative should even think of supporting Newt Gingrich! We don’t need to rethink our Constitution! It is not making it more difficult for America to lead the world! And even if it was, which it isn’t, I do not want Mr. Gingrich or progressives like him rethinking anything about the Constitution, not even the punctuation marks, more less the revolutionary ideas contained in it!
What are you going to do with these rare glimpses into Newt Gingrich’s political soul? Are you just going to ignore them? I hope not! When he partnered up with Nancy Pelosi recently to make TV commercials, promoting Al Gore’s discredited concept of global warming, Newt Gingrich was giving us another special glimpse into his political soul. Are you just going to ignore that too? What about when he endorsed the ultra-liberal Dede Scozzafava, in New York’s 23rd Congressional District, when she ran against conservative Doug Hoffman, who had the endorsement of the TEA Party? Mrs. Scozzafava supported Big Unions and abortion, and by endorsing her, so did Newt Gingrich! One should stand or fall on the merits of their words and deeds, and Newt Gingrich’s words and deeds should not stand!
On Newt’s “humane” immigration policy

Now that Newt Gingrich has become the latest in a series of Republican front-runners, he is getting the kinds of scrutiny and attacks that have done in other front-runners.
One of the issues that has aroused concern among conservative Republicans is that of amnesty for illegal immigrants, especially after Gingrich said that it would not be “humane” to deport someone who has been living and working here for years.
Let’s go back to square one. The purpose of American immigration laws and policies is not to be either humane or inhumane to illegal immigrants. The purpose of immigration laws and policies is to serve the national interest of this country.
There is no inherent right to come live in the United States, in disregard of whether the American people want you here. Nor does the passage of time confer any such right retroactively.
The usually sober and thoughtful Wall Street Journal, on issues other than immigration, outdoes Newt Gingrich’s claim that it would not be “humane” to deport illegal immigrants who have been living here a long time. A Wall Street Journal editorial says that it would be “psychotic” to do so.
“No one honestly believes the government should or will mount a nationwide manhunt to deport millions of people,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
What we have today is virtually the opposite of that. Cities that openly proclaim themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants put their own policemen under strict orders not to report illegal immigrants to the federal authorities, with the result that illegal immigrants who have committed crime after crime are free to stay here and commit more crimes, including murder.
You don’t have to launch a “manhunt” when a known criminal is also a known illegal alien. What many local policies have done has been to virtually put illegal aliens in a witness protection program.
The more doctrinaire libertarians see the benefits of free international trade in goods and extend the same reasoning to free international movement of people. But goods do not bring a culture with them. Nor do they give birth to other goods to perpetuate that culture.
Why do people want to come to America in the first place? Because America offers them something their native countries do not. This country has a culture that has produced a higher standard of living and a freer life than that of many other countries.
When you import people, you import cultures, including cultures that have been far less successful in providing decent lives and decent livelihoods. The American people have a right to decide for themselves whether they want unlimited imports of cultures from other countries.

The Ging’Grinch’ that Stole Christmas… or Just A Small Shove
The Ging’Grinch’ That Stole Christmas
By Scott Rohter

‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house
Congress was still working while Americans were clicking their mouse
Eager to know who was up in the polls
Who’d win Iowa and New Hampshire before the first snows.
~
There were political candidates all lined up in a row
Trying to make it past Iowa without spending all of their dough
While Republicans were hanging all of their hopes
On the dubious premise, voters are more than mere dopes!
~
Now pundits in the media conjecture and boast
That voter apathy is over for most
So… On Bachmann! On Perry! Santorum and Paul!
Four free market Republicans who’d make life better for all.
~
But the powers that be have a different plan
They are throwing their weight behind a newt kind of man
Some claim it’s Romney, but I know the truth
It’s the Ging’Grinch’ that stole Christmas. I’ll bet my eyetooth!
~
Democrat incumbents are running around in the night
Worried their pet ‘house cat’ is getting ready to bite
Scurrying about like a scared little mouse
Afraid that the voters are going to really clean house.
~
Meanwhile in Washington, Congress is meeting tonight
Driving fiscal Bills forward with no debt end in sight
Traveling around on a long, winding road
That leads only to ruin, sound economics has showed.
~
Our country keeps waiting Our future is in doubt
We need honest leaders to help us find our way out
Of the financial disaster we have got ourselves in
By trusting politicians who sold us just spin.
~
Our Republic is waiting Its future stayed in the balance
For a good man or woman with the ‘right’ skill and talents
Who will win the caucuses in the Hawkeye State?
Can a conservative win New Hampshire, or is it already too late?
~
All the candidates are hopeful Their campaigns are ready to go
To appeal to Iowa voters and if by chance, Oh
They could persuade and convince them to beware of Big Gov
And move our great nation with just a small shove.

This is not just another trade agreement. This is doing something which twice, once in the 1940s and once in the 1950s, the U.S. Congress rejected… It is a very big transfer of power.” Newt Gingrich said those words, and yet he still voted for GATT. As the House Minority Whip, he had the power to postpone that vote until after the next election, until it could have been modified or defeated, yet he allowed it to be passed in a ‘lame duck’ session of Congress. As the House Minority Whip, he also encouraged his fellow Republicans to vote for it! See my article Newt Worthy or Not from March 2011. Newt Gingrich bears the responsibility as much as anyone else, for the huge trade imbalances that are hurting America today, and for transferring America’s sovereignty on matters having to do with foreign trade to an international authority. |

It doesn’t sound like the former Speaker has a lot of respect for the Constitution. He seems to view our Constitution as an impediment or an obstacle. |

Newt Gingrich resigns over the failed midterm elections, in which Republicans lost 5 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, which was the worst loss in history for a political Party who did not control the WhiteHouse! At the same time he was also involved in a flap over an extramarital affair, and a controversial book deal, and there were also substantive ethics violations. After resigning Newt goes into business as a high priced Washington D.C. lobbyist and political consultant. |

Now that Newt Gingrich has officially declared what most of us already knew or suspected, that he is in the running for the Republican Party nomination in 2012, I started thinking again. True conservatives, libertarians, and constitutionalists are not just fighting Barak Obama and the Democratic Party! We are also up against the entire ‘Progressive Establishment,’ that seeks to maintain control over both the National Democratic and the Republican Parties. This so called forward looking, liberal, elite, establishment supports such programs as:
- Continued deficit spending.
- Increasing our national debt, or at least maintaining the current high debt levels for well into the foreseeable future.
- Monetizing the debt, or quantitative easing.
- Devaluing the Dollar.
- Replacing the Dollar as the world’s reserve currency with a ‘basket of currencies’.
- The eventual establishment of a one-world currency.
- The creation of a World Central Bank.
- Bailouts for billionaires and other taxpayer financed ‘corporate welfare programs’.
- The suppression of States-Rights.
- The dissolution of our national sovereignty.
- The creation of an International World Government that is controlled by inter-national world socialists.
- The subjection of the United States to the increasing jurisdiction of the United Nations, the World Court, and the WTO, etc.
- The virtual de-constructing of our Constitution and our Bill Of Rights.
The ‘Progressive Movement’ is well financed. It has been around since the early 1900’s. ‘The Progressive Establishment’ attempts to control both National Political Parties, which is why both candidates in a particularly important race can both be ‘Progressives’. They also control most of the national media, both print and electronic, which are the marketing tools that they use to get their candidates elected to high public office! That is why they will never willingly allow real campaign finance reform, because it will take money away from the national media which they own! The only thing that conservative patriots have on our side is the TEA Party Movement, a few good men and women on Capitol Hill (probably not more than 100), a few good pundits on Talk Radio, the writings of our Founding Fathers, some good contemporary conservative writers and bloggers, and as the proverbial saying goes, Truth, Justice, and the American Way! We don’t have the luxury of just being able to battle Democrats. We also have to come to ideological blows with forces inside our own political party!
” The strategy of ‘The Progressive Establishment’ has always been to get the two most liberal candidates, one from either political party nominated in their respective primaries, and then to promote the most progressive of those two candidates in the general election.” Either way ‘The Establishment’ wins, because they target and dispose of the most conservative candidates in the primaries, and so which ever of the two ‘libs’ win in the general election, it is still a victory for the ‘The Establishment’ and much better for them then one of the more conservative candidates from either political party!
Newt Gingrich has been a member of the ‘progressive’ Council on Foreign Relations since 1990. This NGO, founded in 1921, and bankrolled with BIG MONEY from the Rockefeller Foundation and J. P. Morgan among other internationalists, has been dedicated since its inception to dismantling American sovereignty, de‑constructing our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, and promoting the idea of One World Government! During his long tenure in Congress which began in 1979, and ended in disgrace in 1999, Newt Gingrich supported and even pushed through Congress, as the Minority Whip or as the Speaker of the House, Federally funded loan guarantees to China! This is one of the reasons that China is beating the pants off us today in world trade! In 1993 New Gingrich not only voted for the ‘job destroying’ North American Free Trade Agreement, (NAFTA) but he was also instrumental in getting enough Republican support to pass the bill. In 1994, as the House Minority Whip, Newt voted to support the creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) with his vote on GATT! In his position as Minority Whip, he had the power to postpone the vote on GATT, The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, until it could have been modified or defeated in the House, but he chose instead to let the bill pass in a Lame Duck session of Congress! Newt voted in favor of The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade which subjects Americans to the international authority and the regulation of the World Trade Organization. See additional link.
The United States Constitution states in Article 1 Section 8 that “Congress shall have the power to regulate commerce with foreign nations.” (not the WTO) Note: It doesn’t say that Congress has the right to delegate that authority away to anyone else! But Congress has abdicated their role and subrogated their authority to the World Trade Organization with the passage of GATT, and with the instrumental help of Newt Gingrich! Prior to orchestrating the vote in the House, in which Newt himself voted in a favor of surrendering American sovereignty on matters having to do with foreign trade to the WTO, Newt Gingrich testified in front of the House Ways and Means Committee. In his testimony in 1994 he said , “We need to be honest about the fact that we are transferring from the United States at a practical level, significant authority to a new organization…This is not just another trade agreement. This is doing something which twice, once in the 1940’s and once in the 1950’s, the US Congress rejected…It is a very big transfer of power.” It sounds to me like he knew exactly what he was proposing, and in spite of his warning, he still arranged for the vote on GATT, he still voted in favor of it, and as much as anyone else, Newt Gingrich bears the responsibility for transferring American sovereignty on matters having to do with foreign trade to an international authority! This betrayal was a direct assault on our Constitution!
A staunch fighter against progressive ideas, former Ron Paul Congressional staffer and free lance writer, Rebecca Terrell called Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America a “Congressional con-job” and a “public relations smoke screen.” Her entire article can be read in the Dec. 7, 2009 issue of The New American. Outside of a brief mention of the words “Promote the general welfare” in The Preamble to the Constitution which is repeated in Article 1 Section 8 Clause 1, the Constitution says nothing at all about creating government entitlements or public welfare programs! Some of the taxes which The Contract with America only purposed to reduce, that go to support government funded welfare programs have no basis at all in the US Constitution! Instead of just being reduced, they should have been eliminated altogether!
More than ten years after Newt Gingrich left office in 1999, and almost twenty years after The Contract with America in 1994, the spending levels for all of these social welfare programs have increased dramatically! That’s why The Contract with America didn’t change much, because it didn’t pull up the ‘unconstitutional weeds’ by their roots. It just mowed them back a little bit. And we all know what happens after you mow the weeds. They just grow back again! That’s why The Contract with America was a big disappointment. If Newt Gingrich was a true Constitutional conservative, then he would have voted against, and worked to eliminate, unconstitutional programs when he had both the power and the opportunity to do so, instead of just reducing them! Six years after the Contract with America, the President of the CATO Institute, Ed Crane wrote in the November 2000 issue of Forbes Magazine that “The combined budgets of the 95 major programs that the Contract with America promised to eliminate have increased by 13%…Over the years [since then] the Republican controlled Congress has approved discretionary spending that exceeded Bill Clinton’s requests.” That’s why the people were disappointed with the Contract with America. It wasn’t nearly enough, and what little it did accomplish didn’t last!
President Clinton thanked Newt Gingrich for his support of The Violent Crime and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. See additional link. That law placed additional restrictions on our 2nd Amendment Right to possess a firearm. It also federalized certain crimes involving a firearm which has increased both the size and the scope of the Federal Government!
In 1995 Newt Gingrich made a dispassionate appeal in the well of the US House of Representatives to increase the power of the Presidency by repealing the War Powers Act. After voting for $1.2 billion dollars in 1994 to fund increased NATO peace keeping missions, the very next year he urged President Clinton to expand the US military presence in Bosnia! Newt has been pro abortion, pro amnesty for illegal aliens, in support of higher taxes at one time or another, and in favor of expanding the role of the Federal government! He is viewed as being anti‑family by many, not only because of his pro choice stance on abortion, but also for his support of gay marriage, and because he has twice divorced and been married three different times. Actions speak louder than words!
In 1994, Newt Gingrich described himself as a fan of the ideas espoused in the book, The Third Wave by Alvin Toffler, in which homosexuality, promiscuity, adultery, divorce, and abortion are all viewed as perfectly normal and even desirable. He said that in order to understand him, you should read the book, The Third Wave by Toffler. This book is written from the perspective of someone who is writing a letter to America’s Founding Fathers, in which he describes the Constitution and the principles of limited government that guided our Founding Fathers as becoming increasing irrelevant, and obsolete, and hence in need of being radically redesigned and replaced! In fact the book goes on to state that our current system of government must be overhauled and a new system of democracy for the 21st century must be developed! This is the New World Order that Toffler speaks of, and that Newt Gingrich is a BIG FAN of! And not just Newt, but this has been the special pet project of the Progressive Establishment in this country for over 100 years! When Newt Gingrich became the Speaker of the House in 1994, he recommended The Third Wave as required reading for all of his Congressional colleagues! He also wrote the forward to another one of Toffler’s books, The Politics of the Third Wave, Creating a New Civilization. That doesn’t sound much different to me then a New World Order. So the former Speaker’s ideas about Toffler’s book, The Third Wave or his ideas about a new civilization sound remarkably similar to the New World Order or the One World Government embraced by progressives! Is this just a coincidence or is there a connection?
One of the main bulwarks of the Progressive Establishment is the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). For over twenty years since 1990, Newt Gingrich has been a member of the powerful Council on Foreign Relations. Since 1921 the CFR has been single mindedly dedicated to the goal of undermining our National Sovereignty in order to promote a One World Government! In a speech given to the Center For Strategic and International Affairs in 1995, Newt Gingrich said, “The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution…Either we are going to have to re-think our Constitution or we are going to have to re‑think our process of making decisions.”These are Newt Gingrich’s own words! And this is his track record. It is not complete by any stretch of the imagination but it is 100% accurate! He has a record of twenty years in public office that we can judge him by. Now, he’s considering running for public office again, and no mean office mind you, but the highest office in the land, and you would like to know if Newt Gingrich is worthy of your trust and your consideration.
Well first of all, I must tell you that I am suspicious of anyone who wants to win high public office as bad as he does. The ideal model for a good public servant is George Washington, who didn’t really want the job, only reluctantly agreed to accept the job, and who only aspired to leave public office and get out of the limelight and back home to Mt. Vernon as soon as he could! In contrast, Newt Gingrich has already been in the limelight and in public office for twenty years, and he has still not had enough! Newt represents the past and part of the reason that we are in the trouble we are in! Why don’t we give someone else a chance instead of bringing back this tired, but still hungry old warhorse from out of the past?
Secondly, while it is possible that his new positions on smaller government, and lower taxes, and his recent overtures to the TEA Party are real, it is more likely that he is just posturing, like any experienced politician, and saying what he needs to say in order to get elected. In other words, he is positioning himself for 2012. But he has always claimed to be a fiscal conservative even though he hasn’t always followed through on his claims. It’s just that this was as far as his claims to conservative values ever went. They never extended to limited government, adhering to the Constitution, or to any social issues!
Thirdly, they say that politics makes for strange bedfellows, but Newt’s are even stranger than most! And by this, I am not referring to his past three wives! He recently partnered up with Nancy Pelosi to make a TV commercial for Al Gore’s $300 million dollar global warming ad campaign. In this 2008 commercial Newt Gingrich said, “Our country must take action to address climate change!” Really? At the same time, on his own website, www.newt.org he says, “I don’t think that we have conclusive proof of global warming.” It sounds to me like he is taking both sides of the same issue. We either have global warming/climate change, or we don’t. And if we don’t have it, which he implies on his website, then why is he making commercials for Al Gore claiming that we do, and that we need to do something about it? Pardon me if I seem just a little bit confused by his vacillating back and forth on the issue, but which is it? Either we have global warming, or we don’t! Either we need to take action to correct it, or we don’t! Trying to be all things to all people means that you can’t be anything to anyone!
In addition to Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore for strange bedfellows, apparently Newt was also partnering up with the likes of Al Sharpton, the notorious, race baiting, left-wing agitator, and with President Obama’s Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and he has been traveling around the country promoting President Obama’s so-called ‘education reforms,’ i.e. increased local control of public schools with increased subsidies and regulations from Washington! (Isn’t that a contradiction?) But contradictions and increased federal control is nothing new for Newt! Newt Gingrich has always been a strong proponent of increased federal funding of public education from his earliest years in Congress. He helped to get the support needed to pass the legislation that created the Department of Education in 1979, under President Jimmy Carter. Since then, federal spending on education has skyrocketed with no corresponding improvement in academic achievement. Under Newt Gingrich’s leadership, the Congress increased federal spending on education in 1996 by a whopping $3.5 billion dollars, the largest single increase in history! See link.
Finally, in the 2009 special election for New York’s 23rd Congressional District, Newt Gingrich endorsed the ultra liberal Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava, over a real Conservative Third Party Candidate, Doug Hoffman who had the support of the TEA Party, the New York Post, conservative Republican radio talk show host and Constitutional lawyer Mark Levin, and other conservatives within the New York Republican Party! Dede Scozzafava supported same-sex marriage, big unions, and abortion! She was endorsed by Planned Parenthood and the Acorn affiliated, Working Families Party. After it appeared that she was still running in 3rd place behind both the Democratic and the Conservative Party candidates, but only drawing votes away from the Democratic candidate Bill Owens, she withdrew from the race and endorsed her liberal Democratic opponent, rather than conservative candidate, Doug Hoffman. Thus, the Democrat candidate narrowly won the race. Newt Gingrich’s initial endorsement of Dede Scozzafava cost him whatever credibility he had left with conservatives in his own party, and with members of the TEA Party. He might as well pack it all in now and save all of us Republicans a whole lot of time and trouble arguing over the prospect of his potential candidacy!

~ Cashing In on His Political Connections ~
-by Scott Rohter, November 2011
“Ambition is a tricky little animal to tame, and very skillful at concealing itself from its master.”
- Thomas Jefferson, reprisal
“You can fool all of the people some of the time, and you can fool some of the people all of the time,
but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time!” –Abraham Lincoln
No Republican candidate running in the 2012 Presidential Primary is a bigger member of the Republican political establishment than Newt Gingrich is! He represents everything that the elite Progressive establishment has stood for, for the past thirty-two years! He epitomizes the ‘Rockefeller wing’ of the Republican Party. He is a typical ‘checked pants’ country club Republican! And just because he has not held an elected office for the last twelve of those thirty-two years, that does not mean that he has kept his hand out of politics, or that he has been out of the loop.
During the past twelve years, Newt Gingrich has been a well-paid Washington D.C. lobbyist, and political consultant, earning the ‘big bucks’ that his twenty-year career in Congress could bring him. And with his knowledge of all the ropes, and his connections to all of the insiders, he probably feels that he is worth every penny that he has charged his clients! In other words, Newt Gingrich is a career politician who has been Cashing In on His Political Connections, and on his many years on Capitol Hill! He is a member of the political ‘revolving door club’, just like Senators Tom Daschle and Bob Dole, and Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Madeleine Albright. Newt Gingrich is the quintessential insider, a consummate politician, and the farthest thing from the examples laid down by the Founding Fathers that you can possibly get! When George Washington retired from a long and distinguished career in public service, he did not become a well-paid lobbyist, or sell his political connections, and insider knowledge to the highest bidder! He got out of politics altogether, and retired to Mt. Vernon where he took up farming! Somehow I can’t see Newt Gingrich getting down on his knees, either in prayer, or in his garden getting his hands dirty! The point being, is that the Founding Fathers’ idea of a good public servant wasn’t a lifetime and a half in public office, separated by a decade long career cashing in on your political connections!
Let’s take a look at Newt Gingrich’s long record in public office and his lucrative career as a political consultant. As a Congressman from Georgia’s sixth district, Newt Gingrich served twenty years in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1979 to 1999. He became the House Minority Whip in 1989. He became Speaker of the House in 1995. That was the same year that he delivered a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Affairs in which he said, “The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution… either we are going to have to rethink our Constitution, or we are going to have to rethink our process of making decisions.” 1 This is a direct quote from Newt Gingrich. These are his own words! Newt Gingrich is a fan of author Alvin Toffler, who believes that our American system of government, that was designed by the Founding Fathers, and which is protected by our Constitution, has become obsolete, and needs to be discarded, and re-designed. According to Toffler (and Newt), “It needs to die and be replaced.” Newt once boasted that in order to understand him, you needed to read Toffler’s books, The Third Wave, and Creating a New Civilization: The Politics of the Third Wave. When Newt Gingrich became the Speaker of the House, he recommended reading Toffler’s books to all of his colleagues. He wrote the forward to Toffler’s last book, The Politics of the Third Wave.
“The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution… either we are going to have to rethink our Constitution, or we are going to have to rethink our process of making decisions.” Those are Newt’s very own words. That sounds about as close to a regret that we have a Constitution that I have ever heard any politician say! And those words were uttered by the sitting Speaker of the House in 1995, Newton L. Gingrich. It sounds to me like Newt Gingrich has a real problem with our Constitution! It sounds like Mr. Gingrich thinks that our Constitution is an obstacle to overcome, or an impediment that is getting in the way, instead of the actual guarantor of our freedoms!
Newton L. Gingrich. That’s the way that his name appears on the membership roster of the Council on Foreign Relations. This has been a training ground for progressives in America, and a beachhead for socialism, and the ‘New World Order’ in our country since 1921. The CFR was founded and funded by east coast bankers, primarily by J.P. Morgan and John D. Rockefeller, with help from influential Europeans, following America’s refusal to join the League of Nations in 1935. Its first mission was to condition and prepare the United States for full membership in the United Nations. Today, the CFR advocates for more surrender of our national sovereignty, and the implementation of world government. The progressive members of the CFR are globalists and internationalists. Newt Gingrich has been a member of the CFR since 1990! 2
The Council on Foreign Relations has been instrumental in formulating most of America’s disastrous foreign policy initiatives during the past sixty-five years, since the end of WWII. These policies have resulted in the rise of the Soviet Union, the Cold War, the rise of Communist China, the murder of millions of people by Stalin in his purges, and by Mao in his ‘Cultural Revolution’, the no-win outcome of the War in Vietnam, and the continuing stalemate in Korea! The CFR’s policy statements are also responsible for the rather indecisive progress in the War on Terror around the world. Every administration since Woodrow Wilson has staffed their major cabinet positions with members of the CFR, and Newt Gingrich has been right there since 1990 as one of their most articulate and distinguished members and spokespersons! He was already a member of the CFR for five-years before he became the Speaker of the House of Representatives. If Newt Gingrich has experienced any personal change resulting from his conversion to Catholicism, it has nothing at all to do with his long political record, and his continuing membership in the Council on Foreign Relations!
Back in 1979 when Newt Gingrich was still a freshman Congressman from Georgia, he helped Jimmy Carter (who is also from Georgia, and also a member of the CFR) to establish the Department of Education that gave the American people Federal control over the education of their children. In 1989 Newt Gingrich became the House Minority Whip. In 1995, Newt became the Speaker of the House. In 1996, under Newt’s leadership as Speaker of the House, Congress passed the largest single spending increase to date on education in U.S. History, $3.5 billion dollars: all to indoctrinate, I mean to educate our children! Remember the CFRs primary goals: conditioning and preparing. All of this Federal money didn’t come without Federal strings attached! Newt claims today that he believes in smaller, leaner government. But just last year he was back to his old tricks again, touring the country with President Obama’s Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, and Al Sharpton, promoting Obama’s ‘Race to the Top’ education policies, which hand out even more Federal money and require even more Federal regulations over local school districts. It sounds to me like the (old) dog is returning to his vomit, to paraphrase an old Biblical adage, and if we keep letting this dog loose, we are going to lose control of our children. In 1999, Newt Gingrich resigned from office over the disastrous midterm elections, in which Republicans lost five congressional seats, the worst loss to date in U.S. history for a Party who was not in control of the WhiteHouse. (This is not including the disastrous 2010 midterm elections for the Democrats.) At the same time Newt was involved in an extra-marital affair, and a flap over a controversial book deal.
But, Newt Gingrich can’t seem to keep his ‘mitts’ out of politics for very long. Only for about as long as it takes to go on a Mediterranean cruise with his newest wife, Callista! The allure of power, prestige, and money are obviously just way too strong for him. And with the help of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the rest of the mainstream media who have kept Newt Gingrich in the public’s eye for the past twelve years, and kept his name alive, the Republican Party has managed to resurrect the disgraced former Speaker of the House, and re-package him in 2012 as a viable Presidential candidate. That’s quite an amazing feat of political handiwork!
What do solid conservatives or libertarians say about Newt Gingrich? The New American magazine referred to Newt in their December 7, 2009 issue as, “The Establishment’s Conservative.” That is not a compliment! His last freedom index score, taken in 1999 in the 105th Congress, when he was the Speaker of the House, was an abysmal 50%! The Freedom Index is an evaluation of a Congressman’s record, based on the U.S. Constitution, and compiled by the John Birch Society, which is very good at watching for any Constitutional indiscretions! Ed Crane, the president of the Cato Institute wrote in the November 2000 issue of Forbes magazine that, “The combined budgets of the 95 major programs that Newt’s contract with America promised to eliminate, have increased by 13%… over the years. [Since then] the Republican controlled Congress has approved discretionary spending that exceeded Bill Clinton’s requests.” Newt Gingrich is, and always has been, a big government, profligate spender! That is in stark contrast with his 1994 pledge in the Contract with America to lower taxes, and decrease the size of government. Joe Farah, editor of World Net Daily, in his latest article, Newt Shows His True Colors, Again, on November 18, 2011 has also come out against Newt Gingrich. With a political record almost as long as America’s progressive slide to socialism and big government, Newt Gingrich has been as much a part of the progressive establishment of this country as any other member of Congress, past or present!
As far as his lucrative career as a well paid Washington DC lobbyist, and political consultant, the former Speaker’s company accepted between $1.6 and 1.8 million dollars from Freddie Mac to tidy up its tarnished public image and to remarket the housing lender to a growingly skeptical Congress, even as they were going broke by making bad loans. See: Newt Shows his True Colors Again, by Joe Farah of World Net Daily. Gingrich’s firm was also paid over $300,000 by an ethanol lobby at about the same time that he was making global warming commercials with Nancy Pelosi. He wasn’t just helping Al Gore, he was actually helping himself out too! While this might not be a conflict of interest, it sure seems like a breach of the public trust, and a potential ethical violation for someone who has been in public office before, and wants to be in public office again.
